Sugar bear — Don’t scandalize mine

Today I purchased this killer record from a charity shop for 49 pence. Hear.

Paid in Full

I’ve had this belter of a album on cassette for a while now. Just bought it on vinyl for £4 including delivery, can’t wait to play it out.

Wet Women

Some friends of mine at Reinform are putting on an exhibition this Thursday night at 6 Dray Walk, Brick Lane. Check out the teaser and go see it.

Screamin’ Jay Hawkins

Screamin’ Jay Hawkins – I put a spell on you, is one of my favourite tunes at the moment.
When it was first recorded Hawkins himself blacked out and was unable to remember the
session. Afterward he had to relearn the song from the recorded version. Meanwhile the record
label released a second version of the single, removing most of the grunts that had embellished
the original performance; this was in response to complaints about the recording’s overt
sexuality. Nonetheless it was banned from radio in some areas. Watch it here, strong look.

Letterpress #2 – Wedding invites

The next design I created for my press was wedding invites for a work colleague. The venue was
in France and a huge lemon tree was in the courtyard, I thought it was a nice idea to have this included in the design. This was an interesting job as I got the type cast by Harry McIntosh, designed the tree and set it myself.

Letterpress #1 – Christmas cards

About a year ago I purchased an Adana press. Above is the first print I create from it. I put thermography powder on the ink which gives it a raised gloss finish. I was really happy with how it turned out and will continue to experiment.

Made in Queens

I was chatting to my man Wayne about what we can do with our deejaying the other day. I then remembered these guys in Brooklin with sound systems on there bikes. I wonder if we can get a crew together in London to do this… something to look into I think.

I didn’t realise they made a film about it, will have to check it out. More info here.

BBC Pharmacy slide

This is a slide my friend Josh gave me, its a stock image from the BBC found in a charity shop.
